NOTICE: As of May 1, 2008, 11:25am, the City successfully transferred from its Water Treatment Plant to the Lake Region Water Treatment Plant in what appears to be a successful transition.

The City is no longer under a boil water notice.

The State of Florida Department of Community Affairs (DCA) has issued a Notice of Intent to find the City of Belle Glade’s Comprehensive Plan Amendment (08-1ER) in compliance.

Residents are limited to a one-day-per-week landscape irrigation schedule with two watering windows. Odd street addresses may irrigate lawns and landscapes on Mondays between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. or 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Even street addresses may irrigate lawns and landscapes on Thursdays between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. or 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Residents and businesses with more than five acres have expanded irrigation hours, between 12:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. or 4:00 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. on their designated irrigation day.

Attention Belle Glade residents, are you interested in serving on the Citizen Participation Board?

The City of Belle Glade’s Retired Public Safety Officers’ Trust Fund Board is in need of a resident to serve as a Trustee to this Board. Interested residents are encouraged to complete the on-line Citizen Participation Application, and return to the City Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 5, 2008.

Application can be found online and are also available at City Hall. If you have any questions regarding this Board and/or its functions, please contact the City Clerk’s office at 996-0100, extension 113.

It includes checklists, payment guides, and instructions for conducting business with our offices via website or phone. Also included is a very popular interactive calendar listing important tax dates throughout the year. Becoming better stewards of the environment is a priority at the Tax Collector’s Office. The Guide is produced by an FSCcertified printer using recycled paper containing 30% postconsumer waste as well as water-based ink, one of the key elements in reducing volatile organic compounds in the printing process.

It's the City of Belle Glade’s civic duty to understand its citizen's present problems, issues, and concerns. Staff will be available during this tour to approach or be approached by the citizens located in the sited area.
