RESTORING OUR NEIGHBORHOODS.... ONE FAMILY AT A TIME

The City is embarking on a “New Renaissance” and this rebirth is being initiated through the creation of the City of Belle Glade’s Master Redevelopment Plan and the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA).This rebirth is a component of a larger community-building strategy aimed at eliminating barriers that have blocked a higher quality of life for residents of this community. The challenges eliminating such prevailing socio-economic problems are:

• Reducing the higher rates of crime
• Diversifying the economy, thus decreasing unemployment and underemployment.
• Revitalizing selected neighborhoods in the City, including a designated downtown area.
• Providing adequate housing.
• thus, the formalizing of the “Community Revitalizing Initiative Program”
