Information Systems Administrator - Daniel Mills
This
is a specialized position requiring a thorough
knowledge of the operation of the City’s
computer and systems. This position is responsible
for the administration and the integrity of the
system. The
manager will assign passwords and maintains system
security. This
position determines the need for maintenance
and makes the necessary repairs. The
supervisor assists the Finance Department management
with computer related matters pertaining to annual
budgets, reports, and other matters as required.
The functions of this job include coding and “debugging” programs
in languages used by the City, modify existing
programs, aid in system design, operate and supervise
operations in the program operation, write
operational instructions, isolate hardware
and software problems, co-ordinate operations
with supervision, maintain logs on maintenance
and repair, and is webmaster for the City's web site.
Technical
Support Specialist

The
Technical Support Specialist is responsible for
performing the day to day operations of the City’s
Information System. This
position performs database queries to select
data for generating reports, run reports, print
reports and deliver documents to the necessary
personnel. This
position may assist with the City’s system and
computer training. The
Technical Support Specialist also maintains the
PC and data processing equipment throughout the
City, and provides
technical support to City personnel.
The functions of this job include coding and “debugging” programs
in languages used by the City, modify existing
programs, perform simple to complex data queries
and sorts, aid in system design and maintenance
as required, write operational instructions
and/or procedures, assist in isolation of
software and hardware problems, maintain
logs on maintenance and repair. Operate City’s
computer including all data input devices and other
related equipment, post data for budgetary,
accounting, payroll, utility billing, fixed
assets and other required applications, perform
payroll runs, utility billing runs and other
routine processes, perform routine equipment
maintenance and training, and provides PC
technical support to City employees.
